I needed a tilt-only gimbal for my FPV 250 quad. Why not 3d printed?
Unfortunately there are no lightweight gimbals for the BOSCAM TR1 on the market. Although the camera itself is quicke light, the original BOSCAM gimbal weight the same. Way to heavy for the FPV250 quadcopter. So it was time to try something new: 3d printing.
All parts where modeled via the online CAD software tinkercad, exported, sliced and printed with a 3d printer. And voilá: A tilt gimbal with less than 15 grams. It took only a few hours to come to the result. Although it is still not perfect (I would like to get ~130° tilt angle to face the camera 90° downwards for autonomous 3d mapping), but it’s a good start.
I’ve published the design on thingiverse.com in case someone else also wants to print his own.
